A Welcome and a Challenge
from the Benicia Citizens Corps Council. Prepared. Organized. Confident. People who take the time to learn and practice new skills are the people that have the least amount of trouble, even in the worst of times. They're also the people who can step up to help others through difficult circumstances by providing direction and assistance to those around them at work, at the ballpark, the supermarket or at home. You can't pick the place you'll be when disaster strikes, but it's guaranteed that the skills you learn by joining the Benicia Citizen Corps programs will help you and those around you no matter where you are. Individuals. Families. Neighborhoods. It's all about coming together to help yourselves, your
neighbors and your community prevent crime and prepare for not
only the natural disasters with which we're familiar in California,
but also those of the manmade variety that changed our world
on 9/11/01. Yes, sadly, we do have other reasons to learn and
practice new skills that we hope we never have to use, but that
will be indispensable in some of the most dire and unexpected
of circumstances. Please join the good folks that have already volunteered in each of the programs shown on this site. We have a great team already, but you will make it better when you join us! If you have more questions, please send an e-mail to Citizen Corps Council Chairman, Jerry Pollard so that we can help you decide. We appreciate your interest and hope that you will go ahead and raise your hand to volunteer for one or more of these fine public safety and disaster preparedness programs. You'll be glad that you did. |
