Participation in the BERT Amateur Radio Auxiliary and R.A.C.E.S. requires an Amateur Radio (Ham) license.

The Solano County RACES program is organized by the Solano County Sheriff's Office under the leadership of Kevin Ives, N6QGV. The RACES organization in Solano County is referred to as the

Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS)

and all members are issued a Solano County photo ID. Background checks, including fingerprinting, will be completed before applicants are sworn in. Membership in the ACS is free.

An application form for Solano County ACS (RACES) membership may be obtained by calling Kevin Ives at (707) 421-6331 or by contacting Art Mayoff, AB6HB, via email or on the Benicia Repeater on 442.750 MHZ (pl 100 Hz).

Activate and test your Amateur Radio equipment during the monthly Siren Tests at 11:00 AM local time on the first Wednesday of the month. Please check in on 442.750 MHZ (PL 100 Hz), when you hear the siren.
