There is no cost for you to join and no cost for on-going membership. Membership will lend an aura of professionalism to your Amateur Radio participation, provide you with a Sheriff issued photo ID and make it easier for you to cross certain checkpoints or barriers to conduct your duties. A commitment to test your equipment by checking into an on the air net from time to time is required. Membership in ESRT will require the completion of an application form, background check and fingerprinting and a pledge. ESRT is totally voluntary and offered as a benefit for your participation in the BERT Amateur Radio Auxiliary. The choice is yours. Activate and test your Amateur Radio equipment during the monthly Siren Tests at 11:00 AM local time on the first Wednesday of the month.
